Goldies Restaurant’s owner and chef, Ciro Amato, was born in Hoboken, NJ, in 1965 to Ciro and Elizabeth Amato from Naples (Italy) and Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) respectively. The Amato family owned several pizzerias in the Northeast, where Ciro’s cooking career began at 12 years old making pizza and washing dishes. In 1980, the Amato family moved to Delray Beach , FL. Young Ciro’s father opened an Italian restaurant, Little Italy, where Ciro learned the art of cooking. Having the opportunity to work under various chefs on Florida’s East Coast introduced him to many different styles of cooking.
